viola TD: VLF testing and diagnostic equipment
The BAUR viola TD is an instrument recommended for performing VLF (Very Low Frequency) applied voltage tests on cables rated up to 20/35 kV, as well as diagnosing the aging of medium-voltage cable insulation. This diagnosis is conducted through simultaneous Tangent Delta measurements, in accordance with the IEEE 400.2 - 2024 guide (Monitored Withstand Test - MWT). The equipment performs accurate, efficient, and non-destructive diagnostics of insulated cables. This is essential for validation tests after corrective maintenance and for the commissioning phase and/or execution of reliability-centered maintenance strategies.

• Voltage source with VLF truesinus® technology.
• Application of low-distortion sinusoidal voltage at low frequencies, ranging from 0.1 Hz to 0.01 Hz, up to 44 kV rms.
• Application of positive or negative DC voltage up to 60 kV.
• Automatic capacitance analysis for frequency adjustment during withstand tests.
• Tangent Delta measurement with high precision and repeatability, in compliance with major international standards.
• Automated test and diagnostic sequences using BAUR Software 4.
• Can be used in conjunction with the PD-TaD system for offline Partial Discharge testing.
